Description

Chionochloa rubra is a tall red tussock with beautiful flower heads useful in floral art. Good in groups. Tolerates cold & dryness but not good in humid areas. Volcanic plateau southward, North Island. Nth Canterbury & Marlborough South Island. Subalpine to alpine. Tussock grassland and also found within shallow bogs or fringing the margins of small ponds, tarns and slow flowing streams.
