Excellent plant for wet shady places – particularly steep banks. Wide flat bright green leaves & brown heads of flower in summer. North Island from Northland to the Rimutaka ranges.Coastal to montane (up to 900 m a.s.l.). usually in seepages draining cliff faces. Favours sunny situations but is equally at home within tall forest along river banks, stream sides and steep gorges. 1m
